“Obama Stumbles Out of the Gate”

As part of these Wednesday Election Specials, I will from time to time bring you an article or two that I find very interesting, which is what we’ll do today. Most weeks, we’ll focus on some detailed polling information that my cohort Spencer Wright and I put together.

I have been sitting on today’s article for over a month, wondering whether I should reprint it or not. Whenever I write (or reprint) anything negative about President Obama, I get a wave of really nasty e-mails, even if the information is patently true. That will most likely be the case after today.

Today’s article was published by POLITICO on May 25. Politico is a journalism organization out of Arlington, Virginia – with some 75 reporters. It was founded in 2007 by a couple of former Washington Post writers.

Initially, Politico was considered to be somewhat conservative-leaning in its views, but more recently it has been more middle of the road. So, I was somewhat surprised to see this article which takes a hard look at the Obama re-election campaign and how it has gotten off to a somewhat rocky start.

Warning: if you are a big Obama fan, maybe you don’t want to read this story; on the other hand, maybe you should read it so you know where things stand.

The article begins rather abruptly with a discussion on Obama’s recent endorsement of gay marriage.

Next week, we will get back to the latest polling data on the presidential race and the handful of states that will decide the outcome.

Be sure to check my Blog on Friday when I’m sure I’ll have something to say about the Supreme Court’s decision on ObamaCare. I’m hoping I will have a good day tomorrow!

As always, I welcome your comments and/or suggestions.
